Sprinkler Lube 1200 is designed for use in the gear boxes of center pivot irrigation systems. This semi-fluid grease which is between a 00 and a 000 grade has some special properties. It carries heavy loads and shock loads. At the same time, Sprinkler Lube 1200 passed the copper corrosion test with a 1b, showing that it will not attack any yellow metals such as copper or brass. Formulated as a thixotropic grease, it thins down in a gearbox, but when left idle thickens back to a penetration of 415. This allows Sprinkler Lube 1200 to have good flow back and heat transfer around bearings and gears while remaining thicker at the outer areas of the gearbox to help with sealing, keeping moisture out and lubricant in. You will notice that Sprinkler Lube 1200 is designed to keep the lubricant in and moisture out of a gearbox with its adhesive/cohesive additive system, by being a semi-fluid, and by being thixotropic. You may have noticed that it is designed to protect your gearboxes if moisture does get in by its water resistance, its adhesive/cohesive additive system, and its rust, oxidation, and corrosion system.
Keeping the moisture out is the best alternative. If water does enter the gearbox, rest assured that the gearbox will be best protected with Sprinkler Lube 1200.
Less downtime and the cost associated with it such as loss of yeild, extended gearbox life, and extended lubricant life makes Sprinkler Lube 1200 a very cost affective product of choice.
