Sprinkler Lube is a lubricant formulated specifically for pivot irrigation gearboxes.  Unlike regular gear oil, Sprinkler Lube 1200 and 1200 OT reduce the problem of leaking gearboxes that lead to gearbox failure.  In addition, Sprinkler Lube 1200 and 1200 OT are formulated with extreme pressure and anti-wear additives that are specifically designed to overcome the harsh elements of agricultural environments.

Sprinkler Lube 1200 OT is formulated for use in new gearboxes.  The challenge with new gearboxes is overcoming break-in wear.  Sprinkler Lube 1200 OT is formulated to overcome break-in wear and protect the gearbox from the damage that is caused by wear particles in the gearbox.  You can get peace of mind by installing 1200 OT from the first year of your pivot and ensure that you are going to get the longest life expectancy out of your pivot gearboxes.

An average irrigation pivot gearbox requires approximately 7 lbs. of lubricant.  For reference, our product sizes will fill approximately the following amounts.

35# Pail = 5 gearboxes

120# keg = 17 gearboxes

400# drum = 57 gearboxes

Keep in mind that these are approximate figures.

Sprinkler Lube is designed to last more than three times longer than regular gear oil!  While Sprinkler Lube gives you better protection for a longer period of time over standard gear oils, it does not last forever.  It is our recommendation that you plan to change Sprinkler Lube every 10,000 hours of operation.  If your pivot is operating for 2,500 hours per year, then you should plan to change your Sprinkler Lube out in four to five years.  While it may last longer than that, the reality is that eventually the additive system does get used up and you will begin to lose the protection that you once experienced and may start to have issues with gearbox failure.
