Sprinkler Lube 1200 OT has been developed to increase the performance of our lubricant in extreme conditions. Packed with additional extreme pressure additives and anti-wear properties it helps gearboxes overcome break in wear and gives the ultimate protection under high load situations. These benefits mean that you can install Sprinkler Lube 1200 OT in a new gearbox, reduce gearbox failures by up to 95%, and can exponentially increase the load over normal gear oil. Just like our original formula, Sprinkler Lube 1200 OT is effective for 10 years or 10,000 hours, that is more than three times the life of standard OEM gear oil.
Our OT formula has the same characteristics as our regular 1200, protecting your leaking gearboxes from the damage caused by a lack of lubrication. What we have improved is the ability to carry a higher load. These are the worm gears that go with the data in the two graphs below. The picture above shows the severe galling and damage that occurred when the lubricant was unable to keep metal-to-metal contact from occurring despite the gearbox being full of new lubricant.
The graphs below show this Valley gearbox carried a bit more load than the HDC gearbox did before failing the test. It also had fewer wear particles. Galling still occured, but in a slightly different form. It was not as severe as the HDC test. Our testing shows that some of this improvement may be due to the design of the gearbox.
Looking at the graph below, you can see that this gearbox was subjected to 300% more load for over 600% longer without failing the test. The test was shut down after nine hours each time. The test shows that this UMC AD gearbox with Sprinkler Lube 1200 OT protected the gearbox from metal-to-metal contact during the extreme overloading for a prolonged period. You can see that there is minimal galling even when Sprinkler Lube 1200 OT was pushed to three times the load compared to the other gearboxes.
The above graph represents load carrying capability in amount of load and time run, so more load and time is better. The test data shows Sprinkler Lube 1200 OT can carry a much higher load for longer periods of time. This means that when gearboxes are under heavy loads, Sprinkler Lube will protect them from damage that shortens the life of the gearbox.
This graph represents the iron wear particles present in the gearbox at the end of each 100 hours of testing, but before overloading occurred at the end of the test. In this case, the fewer wear particles there are, the better the gearbox is performing.
